Space42, the Abu Dhabi-based AI-powered space technology company formed from the merger of Bayanat and Yahsat, announced the global commercial availability of its next-generation Thuraya-4 satellite system. Built on the Airbus Eurostar Neo platform with a 12-meter reflector antenna, Thuraya-4 delivers speeds exceeding 1 Mbps across more than 100 countries.

The satellite, launched aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 in January 2025, carries a 15-year government contract valued at $708 million. Alongside the availability announcement, Space42 revealed 16 new Thuraya-4 products designed for land, maritime, airborne, and deployable network applications.

CEO Ali Al Hashemi called the launch a major milestone for Space42, strengthening the company's position in Non-Terrestrial Networks. The system opens new markets including South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Mozambique, and Zambia.
